Mucho Maas, is there still a debate taking place between tdma and cdma, or is it now simply a matter of who has more chutzpah, and propaganda slinging?

I was fairly convinced that the cdma approaches now being used are more efficient, permit greater levels of head room, allow for better spectrum utilization and require fewer cell sites in rural areas, and would be the natural selection for those who are not already committed to an alternative.

But what do I know? I'm only a broadband curioso, and I'm still confused about what George would do with 864,000 lambdas (see J. Hartmans's recent summary of gg posts here) in any given network context, given that it would mean also handling 864 individual fiber strands on the interfaces of whatever black box(es) that would be used to harness so much bandwidth.

BTW, the last mile thread currently has a discussion going on by some of the best practicing wireless posters that SI has to offer which might be of interest to those here who would like to hear some diverse opinions, hopefully, on these topics.
