Hope Greenspan doesn't cause a market crash. That isn't good for ANYONE. Seems like the old timers want the market to look like it used to. When they can't figure it out, they get together and force it to confirm to old paradigms.

Last I checked we were in a free market system and price, supply/demand was what was supposed to rule. Interfering with those mechanisms artificially always ends up causing problems. The economy was just fine and the market would rid itself of excesses over time. The public WANTED to be invested in the market and was willing to weather the swings.

But powers are trying to SCARE everyone into selling out. They say there is not enough FEAR in the market.

WHAT !!!

I know plenty of people who are plenty scared---pros and novices alike. And this "let's get em'plenty scared and cause a panic" mindset could cause a huge problem for the world economy.

Maybe I am simple-minded, but holding down the stock market helps no one in the long run.

Seeing the NASD futures drop 225 point in 1 1/2 hours is pretty bad.

Why keep all of this cash on "the sidelines"? Investors WANT IT PUT TO WORK or they wouldn't be sending it to the funds. So the funds sit on it and EVERYONE rushes back in sometime in the future and prices go back up. What is the point?

I play both sides of the market and am usually in cash every night. But I still don't think this is healthy for our economy or for investor sentiment.

IF the individual investor ever started massive redemtions, it would end very badly--for everyone--and would have lasting effects on the world economy. This "forced" fear/panic that so many "want to see" will end up biting them as well.

Who want an economy like we had in the 70's??? We (America)are finally back on top of the world economy. Our technology is once again superior. Our work force is one of the best anywhere. Yet powers are trying to "manage" and second-guess our future under the banner of "preemptive" strikes against of the economy. The powers want to spite the public and show them that they are powerful enough to circumvent the laws of supply and demand.

I just hope they don't burn down the house to spite everyone else. Because we live in that house too.

Not meaning to be doom-and-gloom, just sick of how things are playing out in America these days.
