You haven't been paying attention. It happens all the time, and is generally applauded by the citizenry.

Saving a child's life does not entitle the one who does the saving to keep the child. And I do not think it illegitimate for government to intervene to return a child to a parent, especially when the child is being used as a political pawn and a publicity tool. And the Miami family had made it very clear that they would not return the child to his parent unless compelled to do so.

I admit that it must be reassuring and pleasant to see the world as such a simple place. I would not stand between you and that pleasure, and I suppose you must delude yourself into thinking that your simple vision is in some way related to reality.
