Scumbria, Re: AG, inflation and oil prices US had the highest rate of inflation of industrial countries before the oil price increase, and still has the highest rate of inflation. There is no reason why the rate can't be brought down to the mainstream. The inflation has a very distorting effect on the whole economy. Many people don't have the math skills to translate the inflation distorted picture to reality, and these people will make incorrect economic decisions as a result. These incorrect decisions have a negative impact on the economy. Joe
