Re: Oil import tax

I think there may be some issue with WTO, or unfair trade practice if the tax is excessive. The BTU tax never made it either, so we ended up with an excise tax on sales of gasoline.

I think there should be more research into alternative sources of energy, (not necessarily premature, uneconomical deployment), so that when the next crisis comes, there is a ready alternative.
