johnd-- I don't know your answer for sure, but the most authoritative source for pooling of interests accounting issues is the Arthur Andersen book "Accounting for Business Combinations". I just took a quick look and the only thing I can find is a 90 day limit on stock repurchases following the closing of a transaction accounted for as a pooling. That would be April 7th. See Paragraph 47d-18 of the book. There might be another requirement as well, because the 6 month rule sounds familiar to me even if I can't find the authority. Is there an M&A CPA on this thread??
