C'mon guys....not everything that occurs is a positive for Qualcomm. If the ban on subsidies holds in Korea, you can expect to see a dramatic drop-off in cell-phone sales in Korea. This will be especially true over the next 2-3 months as consumers wait to see if the ban sticks.

The stated reason for the ban is that too much of the content of mobile phones is supplied by foreign companies....thus reducing the trade surplus. The trade surplus seems to be a politically sensitive number....and this is their way of reaching the $10Billion target that had had been set earlier in the year.

It makes no sense to me....but I dont think that this was done because their is a huge shortage of mobile phones to export.
