I think Elaine is right, but still looks like we will get a nice rally before we start down again. One thing this generation if investors needs to learn is that bear markets take time. They are quite different from the brief sharp selloffs we have seen in recent years. The 1973-75 bear -- which saw the Dow plunge nearly 50% in a period of some 20 months -- had several strong rallies on the way down.
