I fail to see what learning about TA has to do with trading programs. If it gives me a better understanding of the market, what is wrong with it.If it tells me that when a stock runs up 500% in a matter of 4 weeks to a PE of 1000 its time to reduce my risk and protect myself. If it helps me pick better entry positions,I would think it is a tool to be utilized.

I realize a lot of the folks trade options some do it regularly and some the occasional fling. Those same folks have long term core holdings.Does that make them a trader.

TA is very complicated and years of knowledge and experience is needed before one even contemplates using it as a trading tool for frequent trades.
