The boy was an illegal alien. He was illegal when he was fished out of the water and brought here- he was "paroled" as are all Cubans who get to US soil- PAROLED because they are illegal (under the wet foot/dry foot rules) and as SOON as the parole was revoked he became illegal again- that is simply the law.

You can SAY he wasn't an illegal alien, but that doesn't make it true. And if you bother to read the INS regs it will give you a much clearer picture of what happened here, and why it happened.

I can think of lots of reasons why the the Miami "family" has not been prosecuted. Rioting in Miami would be at the top of my guess list. The righteousness of a position, and the grinding of the legal system have very little influence with rioting mobs- as was brought home ever so clearly after the first trial of the officers who had contact with the criminal Rodney King.
