Rational love- a love that you can reasonably expect to make you happy. Irrational love- a love which you can reasonably expect to bring you pain. I could never control myself from feeling irrational love, but I could certainly prevent myself from acting on it- and thus, eventually, kill it. I have done this all my life with good results. For me it is a good thing.
