Hmmm..., How long have the EV1 ads been running in the Bay area? I haven't seen any national ads at all, and there certainly are none in Texas.

Ford is already planning on using it's new Escape SUV as a platform for a hybrid, that will get 40 m.p.g., that it plans on introducing for the year 2003. Although it is a smaller SUV, it is a step in the right direction, and I expect announcements from the others soon. It is shown in this month's Popular Science.
