I have established the leads by testings and the relative way in which they track price. A good lead estimate without testing is to use the nearest whole Square root, 34 returns a 6 lead while 21 would use 5 lead, etc. If you use a program that allows a variable MA that is adjusted for volatility like Chande's Vidya. It will accelerate with trend then back off in a range. Sadly, it is rare RT program that allows this. Metastock has about four or so using this idea.
