Good points TTOSBT, both of them thanks for your input.

p.s. New York State is not as liberal as New York City. Lots of folks often mix the two.

My apologies, I should think twice before throwing the baby into the red bath water. Then again I am sure there must be some babies (the good kind of course <g>) within New York City as well. In any event at this point in time, I'll bet Al Gore is willing to crawl across broken glass from my state of Washington to New York to win the election.

Imagine this possibility:

1) G.W. Bush is elected & kicks out all the Clinton appointee minions from the DOJ, and appoints new Supreme Court Judges, just like Clinton did upon his election.

2) G.W. Bush refrains directly from intervening in this case to "show" no bias, and allows the appellate court their ruling.

3-A) The court overturns the lower court, and the new Justice Dept. decides not to appeal it any further.

3-B) The case is upheld and is forwarded to the newly appointed Supreme Court Judges.

Kind of like a reversal of what has brought this current situation to pass. For some on this thread to say it isn't a political issue is beyond me; do they think this case would exist here and now under a conservative (emphasis fiscally) Republican president?

The battle lines have been drawn, one can only hope (at least myself) that: This malaise as well as many others in this administration will leave an impression upon the 40% of the population of whom are not partial one way or another.

Best regards,

Gary
