OT Sam: Do you work for them?

I can only think that you misread my post.

As you would know, QoS in the carrier market (carrier class, toll quality) is something unheard of from those coming from the IP arena. Marrying the two has been the goal of most main vendors over the last few years. Some companies, Nortel being one, have over hyped IP as the saviour - well proof will come over the next couple of years. Carriers, service providers and operators want reliability foremost. Ericsson is seen as probably the most boring vendor, but hey the kit works, its dominance in the wireless market proves a point doesn't it?

Nortel have done much over the years, however when it comes to vendors I see them at the back of the pack. They may well break through again. My opinions may not be liked, but by all means convince me otherwise (as this is OT for the Nokia thread, then contact by PM) - I might even write about them positively in a future article.

All the best,
M
