Sam,

As per your post(in quotes):

1. It appears clear to me that Mika was not specifically criticising Nortel's adherence to ITU standards, but rather the fact that the standards for IP do not yet include adequate provisions for quality of service - and yes that includes MPLS. This is proving to be a real waterloo for the everything converges to IP crowd. His suggestion that companies that have been hyping IP for everything, including mobile voice, may not be able to deliver on their promises. While Nortel has been amongst those companies hyping IP telephony, they are experienced enough to be pragmatic in practice.

2. Please be sure you actually understand the content of a post before you insult the poster.

"Quality of Service QoS is a technical term, the delivery of which is easily quantifiable by technical ITU standards and criteria in
each field of service. Nortel conforms and complies or exceeds with all the QoS standards in every product line they sell. Are you
suggesting in any form or manner that Nortel does not do this?

If your knowledge in these technical matters does not extend as far it should before you make a statement like that, please apply
better control on what you post.
Not at all amused with ignorance or disrespect for a corporation that has done more for the world than obviously you are aware
of.
Sam A."
