Hi Rande !

In europe - at least germany, austria - Nokia is the leader in GSM, then follows Ericsson and Siemens. In austria we have a population of a little more then 7 million people, but about 2 1/2 mill. handies ! The new WAP (wireless application protocol) - handies are getting a lot of attraction in the press these days, but you need a WAP-gateway for the web-pages you can watch with a WAP-Handy, you don't see very much on the small display and so on. So I'm not sure if WAP really is the future of the wireless world.

The next generation after GMS will be UDMS with much better quality and the ability of higher data transfer rates than GSM (9600bd). In England they sold the license for UDSM after an auction for an unbelievable amount of money, in germany they are preparing the auction for this license.

regards - styrianoak
