Is this on again off again China Unicom and/or China lauching CDMA just FUD or negotiating ploy?

If anyone has watched the debate yesterday on C-Span, and is willing to objectively think about it, the answer to the above is obvious.

First and foremost, the US government is delivering a clear message to China that WE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. WE DON'T APPROVE OF HOW YOU RUN YOUR COUNTRY. WE ARE HIGHER AND MIGHTIER. WE WILL TELL YOU WHAT TO DO. WE WILL CONDEMN EVERYTHING YOU DO WITHOUT DUE PROCESS. I thought they were voting on whether to declare war on China.

The mean spirited attack is embarrassing to me because I expect my representatives to have a little more class and diplomacy than the average chat room poster.

Now after all that attacking, US wants China to adopt a US based system for their phone system. Oh, we also want to have FREE market so we can own you wireless infrastructure outright??? Duh, if you are a Chinese leader, would you think twice about handing that to a declared enemy??

On the other hand, I can do business with the Europeans, the Japanese or the Koreans. Aside from Denmark, most European countries have not interferred with how China runs their own country. Hmmmm, that seems to be a simple decision to me.

If IMJ asks me, (he has not called me to date) I would tone down this US label on CDMA immediately. The route into China may be easier via S Korea or the Swedes.
