You sure are right, that it's too bad it has to go on this long. A settlement would have been good. However, let's consider this possibility...

MSFT offered to make some pretty huge concessions during settlement talks. Since the gov't would only settle on a voluntary breakup, it is likely that less concessions will have to be made AFTER appeal, and that might be better for shareholders. We'll see...

By the way, last night I criticized your opinion that the breakup was going to happen, and then turned right around and said I was sure we'd win on appeal. No one really knows, so I'm sorry for turning around and making predictions right after I said you shouldn't!
