John, this is where investing gets interesting. One out of a hundred investors researches their selections to the degree that those of us on this forum do, but fewer than one of five thousand understands the technology underlying their investments, and I don't count myself or many of my threadmates in that elite group. Rather, I try to identify credible experts and rely on their analyses and opinions. I've been following the Telecom Holy Wars since early last year, and am of the opinion that Dr. J's positions have been objective and have proven to be accurate. Otoh, I assess many of Nokia and IDC's claims over the same period to be misleading, inaccurate, and self serving.

Dr. J is quite adamant that qcom's ipr covers all forms of cdma, including wcdma. Nokia and IDC claim that they have found a way around the patents. One of these parties will be proven wrong. My investment dollars are with qcom.
