Nandu, It's a historical average based on trades on that holiday for stocks held an average of 6 months I believe. I've been trying to figure out how to trade with that knowledge for the past year everytime a holiday comes around. The best I have been able to do is watch for selling prior to the day off....for timing purposes....rightly or wrongly to buy or sell on the trading days prior to the holiday? that's one reason I don't mind being in cash today. The other is I'm having a problem w/ the market direction today so I'm waiting for the market to tell me. My earlier assumptions have not been met yet.
