Wrong!! When X said "I HATE" the Bible, she was saying that she hates what the Bible says. Since the Bible is the operators manual (so to speak) of my beliefs, which make up the essence of my soul, then she hates anyone that believes in what she hates. To a Christian, the Bible is much, much more than a pair of shoes or a political belief. I don't see any one around here saying that they HATE the Koran, or that they HATE the texts of the Buddhist faith so, why single out the book of Christianity? It sounds like someone is advocating a double standard on how religions are to be treated. Any religion, other than Christianity, seems to be AOK and tolerated, even if one disagrees with it, but let it be known that you are a Christian and all hell, condemnation, and damnation, breaks loose, and if you truly have an equitable eye, you cannot deny that. ~H~ |
