SONS CYTP

LA JOLLA, Calif., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Cybertel Communications Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: CYTP - news) announced today that it has signed a
multi-million dollar deal with Sonus Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONS - news), a leading provider of voice infrastructure solutions for the new public network. Sonus
completed its initial public offering earlier today. Deployment of Sonus' complete Packet Telephony suite, including the GSX9000 Open Services Switch, the
PSX6000 SoftSwitch and the SGX2000 SS7 Signaling Gateway, will position Cybertel as a Tier 1 integrated services provider with a cutting-edge national VoIP
network.

``Voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the wave of the telecom future, and we're riding that wave to the top,'' says Richard Mangiarelli, CEO of Cybertel.
``Providing integrated telecommunications to the masses isn't good enough if you don't go with the best, and our decision to go with Sonus shows how serious we
are in our quest to climb to the top of the mountain and stay there.''

Dial tone, Internet access and videoconferencing on demand are the state- of-the-art signature of Cybertel. With the Sonus solutions, Cybertel expects to have this
revolutionary new telecommunications network fully functional in ten major U.S. markets by September of this year. Cybertel, which is already positioning itself as a
leader in the new breed of ``Integrated Communications Providers,'' combining local, long distance and Internet access in a single digital product, is in the process of
expanding its network over the next year to include 56 gateways around the U.S.

``Our network will be so advanced that any who dare to follow in our footsteps will find themselves being too little too late,'' adds Peter Buswell, COO of Cybertel.
``Sonus is setting the bar for packet telephony solutions for the carrier market. Their systems have been built for one purpose: to be the most advanced voice
infrastructue solutions on the market. Our network is a combination of 'dial around,' local access and true 1+ carrier access over both DSL and VoIP. And we can't
build a true 1+ network alternative by using the current crop of modified PCs. Our system is built to be the best, and to grow with the technology to stay the best.''

Sonus has made its name serving the biggest names in the industry, including Global Crossing and Williams Communications. Cybertel's relationship with Sonus is
extremely significant in that it will give the company the only other IP network with 1+ dialing capability besides Level 3 Communications -- Cybertel's strategic
co-location partner. This will also make Cybertel the only company that focuses exclusively on Internet-based telephony and Internet services to possess this type of
advanced IP network.

About Cybertel Communications

Cybertel is a La Jolla, California-based Voice-over the Internet Telephony (VoIP) company in the process of building a state-of-the-art Internet Telephony network
throughout the United States. Cybertel has recently signed contracts with other major carriers like MCI/Worldcom and Level 3 Communications, which have made
