Two interesting items:
First, VLNC short interest increased last month another 400,000 shares:
4/14/00: 4,297,560 5/15/00: 4,691,390
(Personally, I am delighted - I'd estimate somewhere between 1,600,000 and 1,950,000 as the aggregate shares shorted by Castle Creek, the plaintiffs and the plaintiffs' lawyers - leaving the remaining 2,740,000 to 3,090,000 naked as a white mouse's behind...)
Second, just saw a press release wherein Samsung has just announced that it "will support the development and deployment of HDR for high-speed wireless internet access globally."
"We are pleased to continue working with Qualcomm to make third-generation wireless communications a reality," said Young Ky Kim, vice president, Telecommunications R & D center, Information and Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. "Qualcomm's 1x HDR and 1x MC solution will enable us to offer our customers high-speed, high-performance internet services and enhanced voice capacity whilel preserving their investments in existing CDMA systems."
(My bet is that 'rather small PDA order' announced by Valence to provide lipolymer batteries for a wireless phone using HDR will eventually become quite large...)
I remain patiently long. Cheers... |
