That's the key. Maybe it would be a good idea if antitrust laws permitted breaking up a company because they might be bad in the future. But I can't recall a single case where that has actually happened. If MSFT wants to keep applications and services/Internet together, the appeals court will allow them IMO. The real question is: would the shareholders be better off with 3 Baby Bills or 2?
