GM adds incentives as analysts see May sales cooling
By Todd Nissen

DETROIT, May 25 (Reuters) - General Motors Corp. (NYSE:GM - news), gearing up for a Memorial Day weekend sales push, has added another $500 in regional rebates, as some industry analysts predicted that May vehicle sales could be lower, for the first year-to-year decline in nearly two years.

GM, the world's No. 1 automaker, is taking out full-page newspaper ads offering an additional $500 incentive toward a lease or purchase of select Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac products in north-central states like Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.
