Interestingly Fidel the fraud didn't confess to communism till almost 3 years later, although his actions certainly did give us clues. There are several examples of failed new governments where outside support made the difference. The russian Krenski (sp?) republic that followed the czars comes to mind. The loss of Cuba was an unqualified failure of the US, specifically JFK.
