open source licensing for Windows ala Linux would be ok with me. Public domain would be better because it doesn't have the sordid history behind it that Windows does. Yes, I know it's protected by ip laws. However, M$FT has broken the law & I see expropriation of that property as a good remedy. BTW: it's APPL's design for their hardware that counts. They can sub out anything they want but it's their design and their expense that goes into making it. Your argument about that is pointless.
