The "progress" is how far Microsoft has lowered the bar of acceptable quality and in the implementation of entire words and phrases (like 'multitasking'). After each description of new OS feature there, beginning with Windows 3.1 you should have suffixed "alpha". One really needs to stretch to get the thing to match up to it's marketing at any given point. --- To say for instance that NT is C2 compliant isn't quite true, is it? It *is true that some brave souls managed to get a specially tweaked NT 3.5 to acheive C2 under some circumstance, one day. That feat was never accomplished a second time to my knowledge. Yours? -JCJ Edit: Addendum- Add DOS 4.0 to that 'alpha' catagory too. I just remembered MOST folks stayed with 3.11 before switching to 5.x
