I think that even MSFT opponents should realize that the judge is hell bent upon destroying microsoft. Even the Justice department is well-intentioned, however wrong their conclusions/thoughts may be. I think that Joel Klein really believes that he is doing good for the consumers. Even though I disagree with him, I have respect for him and govt lawyers. They did a good job, no mistake about it. They believed in something and they worked hard to prove their case. Microsoft didn't in my opinion, even though I think they did nothing wrong!
The judge is another matter. He is incredibly irresponsible when he casually praises the 3rd party brief. The brief is obviously prepared by Microsoft's enemies. They make stupid points. Only a person with a vendetta would agree with this proposal of SIIA. One of the points the judge raised was that if the company is split into 2, both will be monopolies, so that's bad. The SIIA brief states that the company needs to be broken into 3 because it has 3 monopolies. Does the judge even read the briefs, or does he just read the headlines and make up questions ? Maybe that is befitting of a guy who goes off to sleep during the testimonies. He should wake up and try to lose weight! Geez!!
I hope the case is overturned. However, the current bunch of lawyers such as Warden, don't give me enough confidence...
