I think the market reaction today has a lot to do with who the partner is. The memory of Sabratek is fresh and some of us still remember the IBM cancellation and the huge inventory problems following the PCMCIA fiasco before that.

If we can follow on with some more recognizable names this could get very interesting. I have begun accumulating again. But I have some questions. I thought that RACE was planning to outsource production of the servers or even turn into a software house.

Do we have a hint who would manufacture these servers? Do you think that one of their soon coming press releases might clear that up? Cisco comes to mind again. I heard a rumor from a very good source that RACE was close to an agreement with those guys a few years ago. I never could figure out why RACE was never acquired.

One of RACE's problems from the beginning of BT was not seeking a partnership that could provide name recognition, distribution channels, sales force, economies of scale in production, etc. BEFORE release of the product. They were simply too arrogant and wanted the whole loaf; got none.

Outsourcing provides some of the answer and Cisco still looks like it could provide everything to me. What I would like to see is Cisco or other big name acquire a significant equity stake, at least 20%, and announce that in conjunction with the release of the new server!
