Well, it looks as if ATHM's footprint grew substantially today. The divestiture of RR has been a foregone conclusion for some time as such was clearly contemplated in the March 28th reorganization. It wasn't just a coincidence that the sub projections were upped right after the reorganization.

A good series of posts, but I not sure this one point is accurate. Could ATHM have been confident enough of this DOJ decision to bank on an increase in their own subs count?

Under the new distribution agreements, ATT is obligated to give ATHM most favored nation status on the MediaOne properties unless prevented by the RR exclusivity provisions (I would hope that such exclusivity provisions will be voided as part of the divestiture). In addition, ATT would forfeit about 25 million warrants if it does not give ATHM MFN status. For those who questioned what ATHM got in that reorganization which prompted it to give such a one-sided deal to Cox and Comcast, they got MediaOne away from RR.
