Malcolm - I agree it is different now. I just thought it was amusing that he was saying the same things as people say now. One major difference now is the speed and amount of information. We will go through cycles much faster now. Did Internet VC's know this was coming? Of course they did! But you do not shut down the production line while people are still buying. In May, 1999 I attended a Red Herring conference and one of the subjects was internet valuations. They all thought it was wonderfully absurd. One of them even mentioned Motorola going from $500 to $5 a share in a short period of time. Softbank? No clue as to short or long term, but they knew this was coming. Gary
