Arnie, here is an article from the front page of the business section of " THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC" ( Phoenix )

HEADLINE READS--> " $.55 BIG MAC PROMOTION LOOKS LIKE A McFLOP"
This was an AP news story from the Chicago AP office. Here are a few excerts from the article;

"...MCD spokesman Chuck Ebeling disputed the report of poor sales, noting U.S. comparable store sales in April were the "strongest we've seen in years..."

" ... the 55-cent deal is expected to last until at least December..."

" There was a lot of anticipation for this to kick in, and it hasn't yet." said Bob Srygley, the operator of four stores in Arkansas. He said he has been forced to throw away several trays of Big Mac buns because of the lagging sales."

" Dick Adams, head of a San-Diego-based consortium of McDonold's franchises, said many of his group's members are " almost relieved" that consumers have been slow to take the offer, because it isn't clear that any profit can be made at the 55-cent price. But he said it was " a little premature" to call the campaign a flop..."
