Destiny Media Technologies Inc.
Releases Streaming Video on Demand
Tool For Email and Web Applications

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 2000-- Destiny Media Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:DSNY - news) today announced the launch of a prototype implementation of a new java-based streaming video product, Video Clipstream(TM) (http://www.videoclipstream.com ).

Video Clipstream(TM) allows web page designers to embed streaming video directly into a web page or HTML compliant email. The product works at a variety of bandwidths, from basic modem speeds to high-speed broadband, allowing the entire range of Internet users to receive a quality
video experience. The simplicity of adding streaming video on demand to a web site with Video Clipstream(TM) also makes it much more cost-effective for web developers to maintain and support.

The Video Clipstream(TM) product is based on Destiny's proprietary compression technology, which is used in the company's other streaming products.

According to Steve Vestergaard, CEO of Destiny, Video Clipstream(TM) will assist in the convergence of various types of media on the Internet. ``Video Clipstream will allow true video on demand. This will allow Internet users an experience much closer to traditional television.''

Although companies like Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT - news), Apple (Nasdaq:AAPL - news) and Real Networks (Nasdaq:RNWK - news) have video streaming products, they typically require the user to download and configure third party software plug-ins. Not only is this difficult for many consumers, but the plug-in obscures the web page content when it pops up. Another advantage with Video Clipstream(TM) is that since it uses standard HTTP protocols and does not rely on a proprietary server, content can stream through web friendly firewalls.

Because the technology is java based, Destiny's Video Clipstream(TM) solution gives media content owners access to a much larger audience than all current media player users combined. According to Media Metrix, only 31% of consumers have the Real Networks player, 19.5% have the Microsoft Media Player and 9.3% have a Quicktime player. In contrast 95% of Internet consumers use a java compliant browser, allowing them to run Video Clipstream(TM) content right now.

An example of how Video Clipstream(TM) can be utilized is in the development of multimedia emails, which are becoming a vital part of the e-marketing mix for the business market. Video Clipstream(TM) allows for the creation of streaming video emails that can be downloaded in a few
seconds, but can stream many hours of video. A video-enabled email is a much more effective way
of gaining and retaining the consumers attention, according to Vestergaard.

Multimedia emails are a popular way for businesses to communicate with their customers. Video Clipstream(TM) allows for the creation of streaming video emails. A video enabled email is a much more effective way of gaining and retaining the consumers attention. Video Clipstream(TM) enabled emails download in a few seconds, but can stream many hours of video.

``Many companies are also exploring the potential of rich media banner ads,'' explains Vestergaard. ``Video Clipstream(TM) will allow television quality web commercials that will eventually make today's banner ads obsolete.''

According to a study released by research firm DFC Intelligence, broadband video is forecast to grow at close to double-digit rates over the 2000 - 2002 time frame. By 2002, it is forecast that a total of 240 million streams will be served to broadband users.

Destiny Media Technologies, Inc. (http://www.destiny-software.com) has developed a suite of
enabling tools, which facilitate the distribution of digital media through the Internet in either a streaming or downloadable form.

The RadioDestiny Broadcaster(TM) (http://www.radiodestiny.com) allows a user to broadcast live or scripted audio from a computer to anyone on the Internet. Clipstream (TM)(http://www.clipstream.com) enables web pages to stream audio without the use of a player.

The MPE (TM) (http://www.destinympe.com) system provides e-commerce and digital rights management directly from within a multimedia file. MPE (TM) delivers MP3 files in a secure wrapper, and is compatible with existing MP3 infrastructure and devices.
