Will Novell defend the price of the stock?

The answer I believe is yes, because this $8 price is absurd. I think they are waiting to see if the market recognizes that.

I would like to know from anyone here that has been close to Wall Street companies that have traded to maintain the value of a stock what is involved here.

What I would like to see is them going directly into the market with $100 million and buying back any stock offered to them below 10. That would reduce the MMs inventory available to short and relieve the MMs of the burden of carrying that inventory in a down market.

My understanding is Novell has two choices. The fast one is to use their cash flow. The slow one is to get the BOD together to authorize a buyback. I favor the later.

The mere rumor that Novell was serious about making the shorts pay would get the attention of some traders.

Mr. Raney I beleive is the person that decides what to do.

Let's discuss what can be done to defend the stock. What do the people that read this thread with extensive Wall Street experience in the industry think?

I am reminded here of Fred's remark where he said he knew all the institutions but you notice how he didn't "share" any of that information with us, not even the URL's. What happened to "trust" Fred? Why don't you ask around Fred.
