Dear Agustus: Its true the buying power of that huge mass of people being much lower would indicate they dont have the means to buy as much as the population would indicate. However, when it comes to communication, they basically HAVE NO infrastructure throughout a very large country. It will be way too costly and time consuming to lay the infrastructure so wireless is the only way for them to go. I think your hourly rate may be a little low but in any case, as I see it, the Chinese govt will supply the relay stations and all and the people will buy the phones. They may have to all go together to get some in various villages but the human desire to communicate will make it all happen somehow. Anyhow, I am looking to the future not the past and present. Also, I think the first people to benefit here in the USA will be our farmers. I suspect there will now be large exports of grain and the like to China. JDN
