your analysis is accurate. There were extensive comments that about two years ago, John Luongo had several visits to Larry's house in discussions of a Vanitve Sale.

However, Oracle has a history of not paying up for good companies executing well. So the Clarify purchase (while potentially dangerous to Sebl) was unlikely.

I think Oracle paid $12 million for a remnant CRM company about 2.5 years ago, started with a V as I recall and was in the DC area.

Doesn't matter if Oracle buys Baan, but it would be a moderate positive. Frankly another 2 to 3 quarters of current growth rates and the tic toc of Larry's amusing claim that he'll pass SEBL in the next fiscal year will be proof enough as to what company is leading the market.....
