I guess you're still wearing yours. What you don't seem to realize is that the world has changed. You are applying old economic solutions to a New Global economy. Many of the goods once purchased in Michigan can now be purchased in Zimbabwe. In other words, manufacturing has transgressed your national borders resulting in much stronger competition than ever before which inevitably leads to lower prices. Oh...and another thing. From experience I can tell you that statistics can be made to say whatever you want them to. It's pretty much like the "glass is full vs the glass is empty" interpretation. Don't swallow everything that is fed to you. You will be a better judge by simply looking around for yourself. Do you see inflation? Did you notice that many more products are coming up from Mexico and Guatemala and Taiwan? What about the recent trade agreement with China? Will that have inflationary effects on prices?
