On one side of the family, I come from a long line of traveling preachers. Then there's the other side of the family. One killed a man when he hit him over the head with a shovel. And the newly learned story is of the ancester who died as a result of a head-butting contest in a bar. Oh, and that side has the woman who not long after the civil war had two children out of wedlock by the eventual husband of her younger sister. She raised 'em up on the 160 acres that she homesteaded and got the mountain named after her. No one ever changed their names, though.
