You're right (and cnbc) about emc switching over to seg. emc settled the dgn lawsuit with ibm and ibm made a cash payment to emc. they then agreed not to sue each other for five years and to release each other from any obligations to purchase 3 billion dollars of components from ibm. emc cited at that time that the 10k drive was not up to their quality standards and ibm could not meet delivery schedules.

So in a sense this is old news that cnbc is finally catching up to.
