Bill. Yes. There are times when I have the same concerns you do when it comes to investing. I am not a young chick anymore and should probably be a bit more conservative at this stage. But I have been getting used to better returns in the market than meager returns by banks and bonds. And what will we do when the bonds are gone by 2007? Corporate bonds I guess.
Anyhow. I rode this market down to here and I feel that the minute I get out, it will turn around. This could end up being an expensive assumption. Um. All this talk about a bear market when earnings and the economy look so good. I have never seen anything like it. Yes, they are mentioning that the economy was booming also in 1929 but the financial markets were diff. at that time. Yes, despite the opposite talk, finances were diff. at that time. Margin requirements were only 10%. What's similar or the same is that interest rates were being raised back then also.

I don't understand the notion that when the economy is good that you should not do some spending. When is the right time? When things look bad and people have no money? Sheesh.

The inflation numbers did not look bad to me today. But they are already talking again that spending is still up and the economy is still growing. Well, the one thing Abby said right a while ago. The US economy is like a big tanker. It takes a while to turn around and I see that it is turning around with those interest rate hikes. Again, I don't know why the economy has to turn around. Sheesh. I like a good economy where people have jobs and money to spend. Who the heck are those people who think that when people are better off that this is bad? I believe it could be selfish people who want prosperity just for themselves. Maybe GVT people? gg. I know there is a lot of dumb rambling in this post but hey, what else is there to do at this time? gg.

Some techs are doing great at this time. Intel for example. Would be nice if the stock market closed early today, not just the bond market. I need a long quiet weekend. But then again. I am going to participate in Memorial Day functions. Retired Navy guy and all.
