Lather, I am far from "well versed" in Freudian concepts and, do not tend to agree with most of his pronouncements. Now there was a guy that was convinced that his opinions were natural law. But, I have always been intrigued by the concept of id, ego, and superego. In observing people over several decades, I have seen some that exhibit an id driven agenda, some that have largely inflated egos, and then some that are quite will balanced. Somehow, it stands to reason that there must be some fulcrum on which a balance can be met in human traits, so the superego makes some sense to me. As far as my religious beliefs, I believe there is a far greater influence in behavior of humans but, there is no percentage in starting that all over again. We have romped and stomped on that subject far too long, as it is.
I would imagine that, if you scoot yourself too far into her head, you had better be looking for a soft landing spot. :^)
I sometimes wonder what "real" life is. So many people have so many differing ideas of what that is, it all becomes a blur of opinion.
I can maintain the duck's back posture for a limited time but, a fray is a fray, and if it involves a belief or an opinion that I feel strongly about, I am going to jump in. As the scorpion said to the frog; "It's just my nature." ~H~ |
