I agree, and it makes total sense. These 4GL apps have never been known for their speed. With hardware costs comming down, server-side performance can be addressed with server farms.

This also explains why I have not used Java thus far in my career. One of the selling bullets is our ability to run on low-end systems without CPU starvation.
