It's interesting to note that USW actually has customers now using their vdsl, and that Next Level is their vendor. GTE, on the other hand was among the first to aggressively pilot vdsl back in '96 in the labs and in the field, but they seem to not be in that game now. At least, not yet.

I don't recall your posting in response to lml's Pronto news yesterday (re: ASI). Any thoughts on that?

ps - I'm still mulling an appropriate reply to your dwdm v. legacy posts on FCTF. They are not single faceted circumstances, as you've presented them. I get entire weekends for these kinds of assignments. Lucky for me this is a three dayer;-)
