The key time frame, for me, is between 3:05 and 3:35 for the mutual fund holders.

After that the action has a great deal to do with market on close orders.

The action yesterday suggests to me that the mutual fund holders were selling more than buying still.

Specifically, they would have been selling stock funds. Where the resulting money went to .. I haven't given that much thought.

I know that, in my case, when I have them take the 401k to "cash" it moves into a sort of money market fund. This is an employee benifit plan and my moves are limited.

One telling item yesterday, was the rise in the value of US bonds while at the same time the dollar was falling. There was a lot of money being pulled out of stocks.
