hi tc,

the way i figure it, not many people are creating antivirus rescue disks. heck, not many are keeping virus definitions current... maintaining a rescue disk set is expecting a lot. <g3>

i'd just like to hear from any of our thread folks on this topic. call it morbid curiosity. how many have created antivirus rescue disks (again, i stress, these are not the regular rescue disks), and then, how many are updating them?

imo, symantec does not do as good a job as they could in making this process an easy one to follow. that is, at least in systemworks2.0. maybe version3, or systemworks2000 as it is commonly called, handles this topic better. but from what i see, the routine (and any subsequent troubleshooting of problems) seems a little too deep, or hidden. and considering the fact that these disks protect you in case you cannot start your pc or are infected by viruses, and that they detect and eliminate viruses and restore virus-damaged hard drives, this is unfortunate.

anybody have any thoughts or input?

:)
