SB- I'm no economist but I thought that inflation was a factor of the growth in the supply of money. Thats why we used to get regular figures for various measurements of the money supply. Implies that the Fed is a a big part of the cause of inflation. Yes I guess so if they can stop it it surely follows that if it got to the point that they have to 'stop' it then they got something wrong in allowing it to get into that condition. I did say that I thought Mr Greenspan wouldn't be happy till he had broken the back of the economy and I'm very much afrasd that I still believe that.
