Blue Shoe

She walked away knowing this would be final.
Wasted time that don't comeback.
And like time, she leaves in a hurry
with shoes faded from hope's past.
Hope's a dream that takes you away
when those salvations seemingly stray,
the wishing to be awakened by that gentle kiss
that makes it all better.

But there is no kiss today.
Shoes worn rather well, comfortable in time, can't you tell!
What happened to that dream?
She looks down, sees the scuff, the marks, tattered seams,
watches tears soak into leather exposed which once had shine
and walks away with memories a final time.
They were new,
those blue shoes
and they are once again.
