"Sharpchopper with the buttons" - you've definitely got it, too. I don't even try to save face, I just say "thing." The weird thing is that I can describe processes and events in precise, complex detail and have a very large vocabulary - but everything comes to a dead halt while I have to search for a name. I'll be yadayadayada and all of a sudden just stop and look perplexed, and Chris or Ben or Nick or my mother or whoever will say the name of the thing, and I'll say, "yeah," and go on yadayadayada. Most of the time they take pity on me and don't roll their eyes more than a little bit. Well, ok, so I'm not the only one. Is there a name for what we do, or did we forget it?
